A veteran’s family fishing tournament will be held at Veterans Park (A.K.A. Boy Scout Lake), Kenton, OH. All veterans and their immediate family members are welcome to attend this 3rd annual event; the veteran must “register” themselves and their family members with the Veterans’ Service Office to be entered into the tournament. Only “registered” participants will be able to win a trophy, along with being served a light lunch, for free, after the event (11:45 -12:15 PM).
The winners of the tournament will be determined based off of the largest fish caught, the day of the event (minimum fish length to qualify is 6 inches). The top two places in each of the following three categories: 3 -10 years old, 11 -17 years old, and 18+ years old will receive a trophy. Live bait will be provided on a limited basis to all of the participants, while supplies last.
This event is being hosted by the Veterans’ Service Commission and is being sponsored by local donors, including, but not limited to, American Legion Post 198, Amvets Post 1994, and VFW Post 1182.
