The Veterans’ Service Commission (VSC) would like to thank the following sponsors of the 1st annual Veterans Family Fishing Tournament.

We had a good turnout even though the weather did not fully cooperate, this last Saturday. Veterans and their family members were fishing all around Boy Scout Lake/Veterans Park competing on who could catch the longest fish and the most fish.
First place winners received both a 1st place trophy and a free rod and reel, the second and third place winners received a trophy. The person who caught the most fish won a free cooler. All participants received a light lunch after the event.
The following were the winners of the fishing tournament:
Ages 18 & Over – Gerald Purcell won 1st place and Jessica Gossard came in 2nd place
Ages 10-18 – Leighton Wirbel won 1st place
Ages 10 & under – Dustin Mewhorter won 1st place
And our youngest competitor, Dustin Mewhorter, also won the most fish caught winning the Igloo cooler. We thank everyone who competed, especially the winners of the event, and the sponsors who made it all possible.
